Cathay Pacific Airways to include 26 Airbus A350-1000 aircrafts in its fleet

There will be more Cathay Pacific Airways flights taking to the skies on widebodies in future. The airline recently announced it will be adding a total of 26 Airbus A350-1000 aircrafts in its fleet.

The Hong Kong-based carrier said in a statement that it will soon be placing a new order for 10 A350-1000 aircrafts with the aircraft maker Airbus. The airline further stated that its existing orders for 16 Airbus A350-900 aircrafts will now be converted to the larger A350-1000 aircrafts.
The board managing Cathay Pacific Airways is yet to approve the airline’s A350-1000s acquisition request.

The airline said that with the acquisition of A350-1000 aircrafts the total number of Airbus A350 XWB widebody aircrafts will reach to 48.
Cathay Pacific Airways announced its decision during the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow 2012.

Currently, Cathay Pacific Airways operates long-haul flights to several international destinations, including North America and Europe.
