China Southern Airlines fails to launch planned flights on Beijing-Paris route

China Southern Airlines recently said that it had to miss the target date in introducing the planned A380 flights to Paris from Beijing.

The airline in a statement said that it had planned to introduce China Southern Airlines flights on Beijing-Paris route with the help of Airbus A380 aircrafts in October this year. The announcement was made in August.

The airline said that it had planned to start A380 flights on Beijing-Paris route in cooperation with China’s national flag carrier Air China. However, both the carriers failed to reach a pact and the final agreement is still pending.

China Southern Airlines had for more than a year been struggling to gain access to slots in Beijing in order to begin more international flights.

According to the airline, the delay in getting access to slots in Beijing has left it to continue operating its four 506-seat Airbus A380 aircrafts on domestic routes from its main hub in Guangzhou.
