Copa Airlines to launch flights to New Orleans starting June 24

Copa Airlines is planning to further expand its international network. The airline, which is also a member of Star Alliance, recently said that it will be launching flights to three new destinations during this summer schedule.

The two destinations are in Mexico, while the other is in the United States. According to the airline, the Mexican cities include Villahermosa and Puebla. The U.S. destination is New Orleans, the capital city of the State of Louisiana.

Copa Airlines said that the flights to New Orleans will start operating from June 24, 2015. However, the flights to Villahermosa and Puebla in Mexico will be launched from August 3 and August 4, 2015 respectively.

With the launch of services to three new destinations, the airline will now be serving a total of six destinations in Mexico and 11 destinations in the United States. The new routes also demonstrate the fact that the airline wants to ensure that Panama City continues to remain the Hub of the Americas and conveniently connect the Latin American countries.
 
Media reports said that Copa Airlines has forecast a growth of 7 percent for the year 2015. The airline has said it is expecting to transport 12,277,000 passengers to/from Panama City in 2015, which will be nearly 600,000 more than it carried in 2014.

Copa Airlines said that with the addition of flights on three new routes it will now be serving a total of 73 destinations in 30 countries in the Caribbean, and North, Central and South America from Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport.
