A city whose existence spans centuries, Krakow was established way back in Stone Age as just a small hamlet. From then on the city has done tremendously well for itself as it now stands as one of Poland’s largest cities. Reckoned as a chief intellectual and artistic center, Krakow is one of the oldest cities in Poland. The city is nestled on Vistula River, in the southern region of Poland. With the Carpathian Mountains providing a visually stimulating backdrop, the entire Krakow valley is blessed with picturesque sights. Besides this the entire area has five nature reserves to its name which are of great ecological value.
Owing to its topography and its relevance as a center of artistic pursuits, Krakow is abounding with tourists who book their cheap business class flights to Krakow as and when they want.
Krakow has a temperate climate and has not too hot summers as temperature averages around 18°C – 19.6°C. During winters you can find the mercury dropping to below zero. The Krakow region is also known for halny which causes warm foehn winds to increase the winter temperature.
The city’s architecture and design pays tribute to the numerous influences that have shaped it. The various architectural monuments with their historic styles of structural design lend character to the city streets. It is because of this that Krakow’s city center has earned the title of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Old Town, Wawel Castle and Kazimierz are the biggest tourist draws.
