The city of Washington needs no introduction! The political capital of the world is an important destination for political, business, and leisure travelers. The city besides its political charm has many wonderful destinations that are worth a visit. Travelers visit the city from different parts of the world. Known as a seat of international politics, the city too has a different side. The other side of the city is about the graceful architecture, several attractions, and historical monuments. Potomac River flows through the city and adds a unique charm to one of the most influential capital cities in the world.

There are many places for tourists to visit during a trip to the city. Some of the most famous ones listed on Washington City Guide include The National Mall, US Capitol, The White House, Washington Monument, and Lincoln Memorial. US Capitol is the place where the legislators of the U.S. government and the United States Congress convene. It is located on the top of the Capitol Hill. Lincoln Memorial on the other hand, is a national monument constructed to honor Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the country. The monument was designed by architect Henry Bacon.

The city is charming and always busy with tourists on leisure as well as business visits. However, travelers can have the best time out in the city in March and from June through August. March hosts the beautiful Cherry Blossom festival and offers insights into the other side of the political city. Travelers can in any case, visit the city as they please. The powerful magnetism of the political stronghold attracts travelers from far off places in the world. The sight of the White House located across the Pennsylvania Avenue NW spices up the mood of the visitors. The unique spectacle of this prominent city is a crowd puller.

Travelers can find top-notch restaurants in the city. Some names extremely popular with the locals include Zaytinya (Mediterranean), Komi (Greek/Mediterranean), Marcel’s (French), Little Serow (Thai), City Zen (American), Blue Duck Tavern (American), Adour (French), Proof (American), and Fiola (Italian). Some of the dishes served here include Tom kha pla chorn prepared with lime leaf, galangal and snakehead fish, and Phat gai lan prepared with shrimp paste, sweet pork, and greens. Blue Duck Tavern is popular for its ambiance, food, wine and deserts.

Being the capital city, it is connected with the rest of the country by carriers like American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and JetBlue Airways.
