Emirates Airline increases flights to Australia, puts pressure on Qantas Airways

Middle East’s largest carrier Emirates Airline recently increased its flights services to Australia putting its rival Qantas Airways into a piquant situation.

The airline in a statement said that Emirates Airlines flights to Australia on an increased basis have stepped up the pressure on its rival Australian carrier Qantas Airways.

The move of Emirates Airline has left Qantas Airways helpless with increased competition and bracing for yet another year of financial hardship amid its first annual loss ever since its privatization.

Apart from Emirates Airline, another Australian carrier Virgin Australia is also giving tough times to Qantas Airways setting off a price war in the lucrative Australian domestic market.

Emirates Airline has announced it will begin flights between Dubai and Adelaide four times per week in November this year. Later, in February the airline will make Dubai-Adelaide flights into a daily service.

The airline has already indicated that it will be increasing its flights to Perth by 50 percent by early next year.
