Emirates Airline seeks permission to fly A380s at London Heathrow up to 1am

Leading Middle East carrier Emirates Airline recently proposed to fly its A380 superjumbos in and out of London’s Heathrow International Airport late at night.

The airline in a statement said that Emirates Airline flights on it A380 superjumbos will be significantly able to cut noise levels into London Heathrow on steeper-than-normal descents, and landing them part way down the hub airport’s runways, reducing the number of homes in west London affected by the din from jets.

Emirates Airline has approached the authorities and is seeking permission to fly the A380s in and out of London Heathrow up to 1am, and restarting operations at 4am.

If approved, the airline will succeed in increasing the number of daily flights to its Dubai hub from the existing five to seven.

The proposal will also prove to of a great benefit to London Heathrow as it will be able to increase the number of flights from the airport.

The government has ruled out a third runway at Heathrow because of the environmental concerns and a campaign by local residents who are seriously objecting to jet noise.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority, London Heathrow is currently Europe’s noisiest airport.
