Emirates Airlines seeking deeper relations with Qantas Airways to boost Australian traffic

Leading Middle East carrier Emirates Airline recently indicated that it wants closer ties with prominent Australian carrier Qantas Airways in an effort to boost its international traffic further.

A long-term agreement with Qantas Airways will help Emirates Airline flights to gain from the Australian market.

Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, said that the airline is considering entering into a “commercial arrangement” with the Sydney-based carrier in order to gain from the aviation market in Australia.
 
Qantas Airways, which has been facing losses on long-haul routes, recently suffered 32 percent decline in its stock after predicting its first annual net loss. The airline said that its long-haul routes are unprofitable and earnings from domestic flights have been wiped out due to restructuring.

Emirates Airline said in a statement that a deeper alliance with Qantas Airways will help the Australian carrier tide over its losses from international routes. The alliance will also help Emirates Airline to expand its reach in the Australian aviation market making it convenient for its passengers to conveniently connect with Qantas Airways’ domestic flights.
