New Emirates lounge at Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport opens

Middle East’s leading carrier Emirates Airline recently announced the launch of its new lounge at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayaka, in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo.

The airline in a statement said that its new lounge at Colombo airport has been designed, furnished and equipped according to the exact specifications for other 28 Emirates lounges at major international airports across the world.

The airline stated that the newly-built lounge at Bandaranaike International Airport has been developed in an area of 5,778 square foot and can accommodate up to 118 passengers booking Emirates Airline flights quite comfortably.

The lounge is accessible to passengers booking Emirates Airline flight tickets for travel in First Class and Business Class as well as Gold members of Skywards, Emirates Airline’s frequent flyer program.

The lounge was opened by President of Emirates Airline Tim Clark. It is also the first lounge to be set up at Bandaranaike International Airport by an international carrier. This premium lounge has been built at an estimated cost of $1.5 million.
