Ethiopian Airlines adds more Dreamliner to its fleet

Ethiopian Airlines has added Boeing 787 Dreamliner on Addis Ababa – London route. The Dreamliner service on this route commenced from July 8.

The airline has received its eighth Boeing 787 aircraft on June 26, 2014. The carrier has introduced this latest addition aircraft to its fleet in order to increase the comfort of passengers.

The Boeing 787 aircraft offers two classes with 24 business class or Cloud Nine seats and 246 economy class seats. The Dreamliner has exclusive features such as largest windows in the sky, high ceilings, and extremely reduced noise levels. In addition, the aircraft has lower cabin height that reduces jet lag effect. Apart from this the aircraft has larger overhead storage and unique lighting. All this makes the journey calmer and even more convenient for travelers.

Tewolde Gebremariam, Group Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines, said that there are no aircrafts presently competing with Boeing 787 both in terms of operational excellence  and travelers comfort. He further added that being the technology leaders on the African continent the airline will render its best service by using latest and advanced technology aircraft. This will fulfill the expectations of the airline’s valued passengers.

The aircraft also meets the green social duty of the airline by emitting less carbon in the atmosphere. This thereby makes the flight environmental as well as travel friendly.

Ethiopian was the word’s first airline to receive the Boeing 787 aircraft outside of Japan in August 2012. It was also the first airline to introduce this Dreamliner to Heathrow airport in London. The airline also has the largest fleet of Boeing 787 aircraft in Africa and is planning to add two more this year. The current fleet of Dreamliner is operating on long distance routes between the USA, China, Canada, and Africa.
