Etihad Airways posts Q3 jump in passenger numbers

United Arab Emirates’ national flag carrier Etihad Airways recently announced its operational results for the third quarter of this year and sounded upbeat at the positive outcome.

The airline in a statement said that Etihad Airways flights tickets have reported good sales in Q3 2013 and there had been an increase in the number of passengers.

The airline stated that Etihad Airways flights showed a remarkable increase in passenger numbers traveling on international routes. The airline disclosed that its Q3 sales have increased 19 percent, to $1.3 billion.

With its fast-expanding fleet, Etihad Airways has emerged as a leading carrier in the Middle East. The airline is rapidly increasing its flight network.

The airline said that it is currently pursuing a strategy of forming formidable alliances with several international carriers through codeshare agreements and acquiring equity stakes.

The airline revealed that its strategy of tying up with different international carriers has paid off and significantly boosted the sales.

Etihad Airways has its main hub in Abu Dhabi. The airline is scheduled to begin flights to Washington and Sao Paulo next year.
