Etihad Airways signs new codeshare agreement with Garuda Indonesia

UAE’s national flag carrier Etihad Airways flights network will now be able to extend its reach further with the signing of a new codeshare agreement with Indonesia’s national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia.

The Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways recently announced it has signed a codeshare agreement with Indonesia’s largest carrier Garuda Indonesia. Earlier, the airline signed a similar agreement with Air France.

The codeshare agreement will allow the two carriers to help mutually expand their flight network and develop their destinations.

Etihad Airways in a statement said that Garuda Indonesia will be able to expand its eastern-bound destinations under the new codeshare agreement. Apart from this, the airline would also help Garuda Indonesia to develop its western-bound flights.

According to the airline, the new codeshare agreement is a follow up to an earlier MoU signed in September this year, which covered passenger’s codeshare, airport service enhancement, cargo cooperation, frequent flyer programs, lounge services, and engineering and maintenance.
