EVA Airways to begin additional flights to Hokkaido in October

Taiwan’s leading carrier EVA Airways recently announced it will be launching extra flights to Hokkaido in October this year.

The airline in a statement said that EVA Airways flights to a second destination in the Japanese city Hokkaido will start operations from October 28, 2012. Hokkaido is the northernmost part of Japan and is among its four main islands.

Initially, EVA Airways will begin twice weekly flights between Hakodate Airport and Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport.

Providing details about its scheduled additional flight operations, the airline stated that it will be deploying a 252-seat Airbus 330-200 aircraft on Hakodate-Taipei route.

Though the airline will initially begin twice weekly flights on the route, but it plans to further increase its frequency and will begin a third weekly flight on Thursdays starting from December this year. According to the airline, it takes about three and a half hours of flying time between the two cities.
