West Palm Beach - A Paradise Island

Flights to West Palm Beach bring nearly 7 million passengers a year, with the count rising dramatically every time. The public transport system of the city makes it convenient for visitors during their stay; there’s a free trolley service for downtown, water taxi services, buses, subways and railway lines mapping the city.

Since over a century, the annual South Florida Fair is taking over all the other events, in the month of January. There are fun-family shows, a large number of game stalls for the kids and the best part-warm, tasty funnel cake! A large group of bands take this as an opportunity to perform some of their latest singles and albums. The crowd roars with approval and the obvious ‘once-more’ becomes the anthem. For the first few months, the city has a grand International Polo Season, with the motto ‘by players for players’. In the similar lines as above, the FTI Winter Equestrian Fest is organized for horse-riding-enthusiasts. The finest breeds showcase their stunts and prizes are set for the fancy dressage of the riders. Professionals and amateurs alike come experience the best at this mega scale event.

There are two large scale fests, namely the Turtle Fest and Sun Fest. The former is the chance to have a close-up stumble upon with the widest range of distinct species of turtles. Be it the local loggerheads or the leatherheads…they’re all here! The latter event is Florida’s largest fiesta. Top bands and artists come for live concerts, relishing eateries are served at the stalls and the ear-deafening beats make everyone party till they drop!

An interesting party-level fest, called FotoFusion, is held to capture and exhibit some of the unique and finest digital art from amongst the masses. There are a series of multimedia presentations and even funny captured pictures to amuse the spectators. You will get some of the best fares for the auctions held in the evenings, because you decide them!

In the art genre, there is a Street Painting Festival held at Lake Worth in February. The streets become a large canvas for the artists, with no boundaries or restrictions. The public event captivates audiences in masses, and the event is free for both the participants and spectators. Almost like a revolution, this incredible event is worth a visit. The only problem is the paintings last till the next downpour!

Besides these, the city flourishes with cultural and traditional events for the locals. A delight in its own!
