Frontier Airlines announces March 2012 traffic results

Frontier Airlines flights showed a slight decline in its growth in March this year as compared to the passenger traffic results of the same month in 2011.

Frontier Airlines recently announced the preliminary traffic results for March 2012, and sounded downcast at the outcome.

Frontier Airlines, a subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, reported a decline in its passenger traffic by 1 percent, to 1.1 billion revenue passenger miles. The airline also reported a decrease in its capacity by 3 percent, to 1.3 billion available seat miles.

The airline in a statement said that it served 1.2 million passengers in March this year, down 7 percent as compared to March 2011.

The airline further stated that it had a load factor of 86.3 percent as compared to 84.4 percent in March last year. This was the ninth consecutive record monthly load factor achieved by Frontier Airlines.

Frontier Airlines is operating flight services for the past 18 years, and is serving more than 70 destinations in the US, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Mexico.
