Frontier Airlines direct Denver-Newport News flights opens new options for fliers

The recent launch of direct Frontier Airlines flights services from the Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport to the airline’s hub at Denver International Airport is now significantly providing expanded options for Newport News fliers.

The airline in a statement said that Peninsula travelers will have new options for flying directly to Denver or connecting to destinations throughout the western states and Alaska. The airline, which has 73 aircrafts, operates regular flights from Denver to more than 70 cities, Central America and the Caribbean.

Earlier, Frontier Airlines had launched the Peninsula service in 2010 with twice-weekly flights. However, the airline curtailed the service last fall bringing it back to a March to September seasonal service. The airline’s recent launch now marks a significant turnaround and potential for further expansion if flight demand is high.

With the departure of low-cost carrier AirTran Airways from Newport News in early March this year, the expansion of Frontier Airlines’ popular Denver service was greatly anticipated.
