Frontier Airlines into partnership with Icelandair

Frontier Airlines recently entered into partnership with Icelandair to provide easy access for Denver travelers to fly to Iceland beginning next year.

Icelandair is slated to offer nonstop flights to Keflavik in Iceland from Denver International Airport (DIA) starting next year.

Earlier, Icelandair had announced in September this year that it will start operating four weekly flights to Keflavik International Airport from Denver International Airport from May 11, 2012.

With the launch of Keflavik flights, Iceland will become the third European country, after United Kingdom and Germany, to start receiving nonstop flights from Denver.

Frontier Airlines, which operates out of its hub in Denver, has said that its partnership with Icelandair will allow fliers to book a flight from anywhere in the United States through Denver on the two airlines with a single combined ticket, one-stop check-in and baggage transfer between the two airlines.

Daniel Shurz, Vice President of Planning and Strategy of Frontier Airlines, said that Frontier Airlines flights schedules complement Icelandair’s flights to Denver thus making it a good combination throughout the Western United States to Europe.
