Frontier Airlines March 2012 operational results declared

Frontier Airlines recently announced its operational results for March 2012 and sounded downcast at the outcome.

Expressing disappointment, the airline stated that Frontier Airlines flights did not put up a good showing in March this year.

Reporting its preliminary traffic results, the airline disclosed that its traffic decreased 1 percent, to 1.1 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs), while capacity decreased 3 percent, to 1.3 billion available seat miles (ASMs).

Providing further details, the airline revealed that it served 1.2 million passengers in March 2012, down 7 percent as compared to the same month in 2011.

The airline stated that its load factor was 86.3 percent compared to 84.4 percent in March 2011. This was the ninth consecutive record monthly load factor for the airline.

Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President – Commercial of Frontier Airlines, said that the airline’s effective capacity deployment and high value product continue to generate excellent load factor performance.

Frontier Airlines is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, Inc. It currently serves more than 70 destinations in the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.
