Frontier Airlines market share at Milwaukee now only at 6.1 percent in June

Frontier Airlines recently announced that its market share at Milwaukee has now been reduced to merely 6.1 percent in June this year. The airline’s market share was 29.7 percent in 2011.

The airline in a statement said that its reduced market share is because of the continuous slashing of Frontier Airlines flights at Milwaukee.

Earlier, Frontier Airlines was the top carrier operating out of Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport.

Frontier Airlines starting from June 2012 onwards drastically dropped to seven flights per day from Milwaukee. In 2011, the airline was operating 86 flights every day from Milwaukee.

However, the overall passenger traffic at General Mitchell International Airport dropped 22.2 percent in June this year as compared to the same month in 2011. The airline stated that the passenger traffic for the six months of this year declined 18.6 percent.

Frontier Airlines is now in the fourth place for market share at Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport. With 5.8 percent of the market share now, the airline is barely ahead of US Airways here.
