Frontier Airlines Milwaukee flights cut raising fares

Frontier Airlines’ decision to reduce the number of flights operating out of Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport has sent both the passengers and other carriers into a tizzy.

This has greatly affected the passengers flying out of Milwaukee. Reduction of Frontier Airlines flights here invariably means higher airfares.

Timothy Sheehy, President of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, said in a statement that with Frontier flights being greatly reduced, there’s no hubbing airline any more here. He also said that though the market will keep on demanding a certain level of air service, but the fact is that there is going to be less direct daily flights and higher costs.

The impact of Frontier Airlines’ decision is already showing and airfares are rising in Milwaukee at a rate faster than the national average in the United States.

Frontier Airlines has eliminated five nonstop routes being served from Milwaukee. This will now reduce the number of flights operating out of Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport from 32 to 18.
