Frontier Airlines Milwaukee market share plunges

Frontier Airlines is facing rather tough times at Milwaukee. Media reports recently said that the airline’s market share at Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport has sharply dipped by more than 9 percentage points over a two month period. The reports cited major reductions in flight operations as key reason.

Media reports quoting new statistics released by the airport said that the market share for Frontier Airlines plummeted to 22.1 percent in November 2011, down from 27.5 percent in October and 31.1 percent in September.

Frontier Airlines’ operation at Milwaukee will be greatly curtailed as its Indianapolis-based parent company Republic Airways Holdings is working on a series of capacity and route changes. Plans are afoot to restore Denver as the airline’s primary hub.
