Frontier Airlines new nonstop flights to four cities stop decline in Colorado Springs passenger traffic

Colorado Springs Airport Advisory Commission recently released its report and welcomed the significant boost in the passenger traffic at the Colorado Springs Airport in June this year.

According to the Colorado Springs Airport Advisory Commission, new nonstop Frontier Airlines flights to four cities that were introduced in late May this year had stopped the sharp decline in passenger traffic at the Colorado Springs Airport which was taking place for the past two-and-a-half years.

The report said that the passenger traffic at the Colorado Springs Airport was up 5.2 percent in June 2012 to 81,320 passengers as compared to the same month last year.

The airport authorities said that passenger traffic on Frontier Airlines doubled to 17,903 in June this year as compared to 9,728 during the same month in 2011. This increase in passenger traffic has now made the Denver-based Frontier Airlines the second-largest carrier at Colorado Springs Airport after United Airlines.

In late May this year Frontier Airlines introduced new flights to Los Angeles, Portland, Phoenix and Seattle from Colorado Springs.
