Frontier Airlines October results out, passenger traffic up 1.9 percent

Frontier Airlines recently announced its operational results for October 2011 amid optimism. The airline reported that its passenger traffic has increased 1.9% last month as compared to the same period in 2010.

Frontier Airlines, which operates out of its hubs at Denver and Milwaukee, said that its passenger traffic has increased for the fourth consecutive month.

The airline carried 1,233,989 passengers in October this year. However, during the same month in 2010 the airline had carried only 1,210,648 passengers. According to Frontier Airlines, there was 4.5% increase in September, 3.8% in August and 2.2% rise in July.

Providing further details, the airline disclosed that its revenue passenger miles also increased 1.9% in October 2011 to 1.0395 billion y-o-y. However, the airline’s capacity in terms of available seat miles decreased by 3.41% to 1.188 billion in October this year as compared to the same month in 2010. Frontier Airlines was happy over the increase in its load factor, which grew by 5 percentage points to 88% when compared to the same period last year.

Frontier Airlines is among the top two carriers to operate out of Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport. It is also the third busiest carrier to operate out of Denver.
