Frontier Airlines passenger traffic grows 4.5% in September 2011

Frontier Airlines recently announced its operational results for the month of September 2011, and has termed it as positive and optimistic. The airline disclosed that its passenger traffic increased 4.5% in September this year as compared to the same month in 2010.

Frontier Airlines, which operates from its hub at Denver International Airport, stated that this is the third consecutive y-o-y growth in its monthly passenger tallies. The airline carried 1,257,797 passengers in September 2011 as compared to 1,203,083 passengers during the same month last year. The airline also reported y-o-y increases of 3.8% in August and 2.2% in July.

The airline, while providing further details about its September operational results, stated that its revenue passenger miles increased 2.3% last month y-o-y, to 1.044 billion. However, the airline’s capacity in terms of available seat miles showed a decline of 2.1% this September y-o-y, to 1.208 billion. Frontier Airlines also reported an increase in its load factor by 3 percentage points, to 86%, as compared to the same month during last year.

Besides, Frontier Airlines revealed that both its passenger count as well as its revenue passenger miles increased about 2% for the year to date through September as compared to the same period in 2010.
