Frontier Airlines passenger traffic up 4 percent in February 2012

Frontier Airlines recently announced its operational results for February 2012 on a slight upbeat note.

Frontier Airlines in a statement expressed satisfaction over its outcome, and revealed that its passenger traffic increased 4 percent in February this year as compared to the same month in 2011.

The Denver-based carrier said that the increase follows January’s y-o-y drop of 3.3 percent.

Providing further details, the airline stated that 1,003,460 passengers booked Frontier Airlines tickets and availed flight deals in February 2012, up from 960,675 in February 2011.

The airline further disclosed that it scored y-o-y passenger increases of 4.2 percent in December, 5.3 percent in November, 1.9 percent in October, 4.5 percent in September, 3.8 percent in August and 2.2 percent in July last year. 

The airline’s revenue passenger miles increased 8 percent in February this year as compared to February 2011, to 925 million.

The airline’s capacity was also up 1 percent in February 2012 when compared to the same month last year, to 1.127 billion.

Besides, the airline’s load factor also increased by 5.5 percentage points as compared to 2011, to 82.1 percent.
