Frontier Airlines suspending flights to Provo Municipal Airport from January 7

Provo Municipal Airport will see the suspension of Frontier Airlines flights services from January next year. Frontier Airlines recently announced it will be suspending its service to the Provo Municipal Airport from Denver starting from January 7, 2013.

Provo Mayor John Curtis said that the airline has decided to suspend its service here as it is undertaking cost cutting measures and fleet reduction plans.

Frontier Airlines first started operating flights at Provo Municipal Airport in 2011, but only after 15 months the airline has now decided to pull out of the city.

Curtis, however, said that the city officials have been assured by the airline that it will be resuming its flights in and out of Provo in the future.

Steve Gleason, Manager of Provo Municipal Airport, said that it’s really sad that Frontier Airlines is going to stop flights out of the airport, despite a great relationship both of them shared. He said that Frontier Airlines flights on Denver-Provo route were 75 percent full. This would have typically led to additional flights, instead of canceling them altogether.
