Frontier Airlines third weekly Columbia-Orlando flight likely

Frontier Airlines recently announced it is planning to introduce a third weekly flight between Columbia and Orlando. The airline in a statement said that Frontier Airlines flights would be operated thrice weekly between Orlando International Airport and Columbia Regional Airport.

The airline stated that the third additional flight to Orlando from Columbia would begin operations from the second week of April 2013. The launch of the third additional flights would take place less than five months only after Frontier Airlines began offering twice weekly flights between Columbia and Orlando.

Mike Matthes, Columbia City Manager, said that Frontier Airlines is yet to make a formal announcement in this regard, though Frontier Airlines flights tickets to Orlando from Columbia are already up for sale.

Matthes said that the Columbia Regional Airport had for long been trying to bring more flight services here. He said that even the airport has succeeded in this regard with American Airlines announcing in October this year that it would begin flights to Dallas and Chicago from Columbia in February 2013.
