Stopping of Frontier Airlines flights affects traffic at Aspen

With the stopping of Frontier Airlines flights services out of Aspen airport, the air traffic is being severely hit this winter.

Media reports quoted the authorities at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport as saying that the overall number of airline seats would be down 20 percent this winter with Frontier Airlines flights no longer available from here.

The airport officials further said that there would be fewer overall seats available to the travelers particularly during the peak season demand.
 
Travel experts said that when the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport was being served by Frontier Airlines, United Airlines and American Airlines last winter the overall seats offered by the three carriers stood at 60 percent. However, this is not the case in winter this year with Frontier Airlines ceasing to operate its services.

The airport officials further stated that with only United Airlines and American Airlines offering service out of Aspen airport this winter, the travelers would find it difficult to find seats because of reduction in numbers.
