Go Airlines to terminate its Hawaiian operations

Go! Airlines has an unpleasant news for its passengers. The regional wing of the Phoenix, Arizona based airline has announced its decision to discontinue its Hawaiian service. It had first started flying to its destinations in the Hawaii islands eight years ago in the year 2005.

At present, the airline offers inter-island service between islands in the Hawaiian archipelago thus providing smooth connections to the locals as well as the travelers. It has however, decided to terminate these services beginning April 1, 2014. This news is certainly disappointing for the travelers who have been using its services to fly from one island to the other. At present, it flies to Hilo International Airport, Honolulu International Airport, Kahului Airport, Kona International Airport and Lihue Airport. It deploys Bombardier CRJ200 aircrafts to fly these routes.

This airline is a part of Mesa Air Group and is forced to arrive at this harsh decision at the behest of the parent company. As per the official statements, the airline group now intends to focus on expansion within the mainland. Besides, it aims at collaborating with commercial airlines like United Airlines and U.S. Airways and thus not get distracted by Hawaiian operations. It has also attributed the termination of these services to mounting fuel costs in this highly volatile environment.

It has assured its passengers who have booked tickets between April 1, 2014 and June 30, 2014 to put them onboard Hawaiian Airlines. It will refund those travelers who fail to manage a seat on the other airline during the same travel period.
