Hawaiian interisland airline go! Improves on-time performance

Hawaii’s premier interisland airline go! has remarkably improved its performance. Media reports recently said that over the past few months the airline has vastly improved its on-time performance.

According to the reports, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Air Travel Consumer has named Mesa Air Group Inc., the Phoenix-based parent company of go!, for operating “chronically delayed flights” on routes between Hawaii airports.

The U.S. aviation regulator says that chronically delayed flights mean that there will be more than 50 percent delayed arrivals of more than 30 minutes during consecutive months.
 
The aviation regulator had previously written about the Mesa Air Group Inc. saying that it operated the highest percentage of regularly scheduled flights arriving late 70 percent of the time or more during the months of May of all the U.S. carriers.

In the May report, go! was reported to have operated 28 chronically delayed flights for two consecutive months, nine chronically delayed flights for three consecutive months, and four chronically delayed flights for four consecutive months.

The report published recently has however concluded that the on-time performance of go! flights have greatly improved ever since. The report said that the Mesa Air Group Inc. had only six chronically delayed flights for two consecutive months, in June and July, and only four of those related to go! The report further stated that go! did not have any chronically delayed flights for three or four consecutive months, as it had been highlighted in the past reports.
