Gulf Air begins additional flights to Europe

Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air recently announced it is adding more flights to some European destinations from its hub at Manama International Airport.

Gulf Air flights will be launched to Frankfurt, Paris and Copenhagen connecting more travelers to Europe from the Middle East.

The airline unveiled flights to Copenhagen this March. The flights are being operated five times weekly, but will be converted to daily service from June 1, 2012.

Gulf Air disclosed that its ten times weekly flights to Paris will become a daily service from July 2, 2012. The airline’s flights to Frankfurt, being operated 11 times weekly now, will also become a daily service from July 1, 2012.

Apart from increasing European services, the airline will also be adding capacity on flights between Bahrain and Copenhagen and Paris by upgrading the aircraft to A320ER.

Samer Majali, Chief Executive of Gulf Air, said that it is the only carrier operating the largest network in the Middle East with over 1,000 flights per week.

With its huge network, Gulf Air aims to provide its European customers a good opportunity to reach the Middle East and North Africa markets with seamless connection via Bahrain.
