Gulf Air posts significant improvements in H1 2012

The performance by Gulf Air flights was remarkable during the first half of 2012. Kingdom of Bahrain’s national flag carrier recently announced its operational results for H1 2012 and was quite effusive and optimistic about the outcome.

The airline posted significant improvements during the first half of this year as compared to the same period in 2011.

Samer Majali, CEO of Gulf Air, while disclosing the highlights of the January-June 2012 results said that there was a 6 percent increase in the airline’s revenue. He also said that there was a 13 percent increase in passenger numbers as compared to the same period in 2011.

Providing further details, Majali said that the airline’s seat load factor reached 77 percent for H1 2012 registering a 5 percent growth.

The airline in a statement outlined that the Falcon Gold premium class of Gulf Air alone witnessed a healthy 35 percent growth. The airline’s Economy Class also reported an appreciable 12 percent growth during the first half of this year as compared to the same period last year.
