Best on-time performance by Hawaiian Airlines this October

Hawaiian Airlines flights have performed remarkably well in terms of best on-time performance and fewest canceled flights in the month of October this year.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DoT) Air Travel Consumer Report recently disclosed that Hawaiian Airlines remained at the top among various U.S. carriers for the best on-time performance and the fewest canceled flights in October 2012.

According to the DoT report, Hawaiian Airlines flights were on schedule 94.8 percent of the time in October this year. The airline’s performance was thus 14.6 percentage points higher than the average for the 15 largest U.S. carriers.

The report further revealed that Hawaiian Airlines also ranked No.1 for the fewest flight cancellations. The report said that out of a total of 6,204 flights, the airline reported only 12 cancellations.

Apart from Hawaiian Airlines, another U.S. carrier Alaska Airlines ranked No. 2 for its on-time flights performance with 86.8 percent. AirTran Airways ranked No. 3 with 85.9 percent, while Delta Air Lines was at No. 4 with 85.5 percent.
