Hawaiian Airlines announces June results, reports higher passenger traffic

Hawaiian Airlines recently announced its flights operational results for June 2012. The airline exuded confidence and sounded euphoric at the outcome.

The airline in a statement said that the higher capacity in June this year greatly helped it to achieve higher passenger traffic for Hawaiian Airlines flights.

According to the airline, its passenger traffic (which is measured in RPMs or revenue passenger miles) grew 25.4 percent to 1.08 billion as compared to 857.2 million in the same month in 2011.

The airline further stated that its capacity (which is measured in ASMs or available seat miles) totaled 1.24 billion, an increase of 22.9 percent, as compared to 1.01 billion during the same month last year. The airline’s load factor for June this year also improved 1.7 points to 86.5 percent from 84.8 percent in 2011.

The airline also revealed its operational results for Q2 this year. Hawaiian Airlines disclosed that its passenger traffic grew 17 percent to 2.93 billion as compared to the same period last year. The airline’s capacity totaled 3.49 billion, an increase of 16.8 percent, when compared to the same period in 2011. The airline also said that its load factor was 84 percent, which was rather the same as in the last year.
