Hawaiian Airlines daily nonstop New York JFK-Honolulu flights from June

Hawaiian Airlines flights between New York JFK and Honolulu will start operating from June 4, 2012. The launch of new flights to Honolulu is expected to boost Hawaii’s tourism industry.

According to new statistics from the Hawaii Tourism Authority, Hawaii’s rebounding tourism industry showed an impressive growth citing Aloha State posting a record $1.3 billion in visitor spending in January 2012. The statistics revealed that there was a total increase of 14 percent as compared to January 2011. This was the best one-month total on record, surpassing December’s peak by $47 million.

State tourism officials said that Hawaii attracted 643,616 visitors, up 7.7 percent, as compared to January 2011. The visitors spent an average of $192 per person, nearly 5 percent more than the $183 average last year.

Mike McCartney, President of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, said that a strong holiday season, combined with increased demand for travel to the Hawaiian Islands and a large delegation of convention attendees, were all major contributing factors to the increases seen in January.
