Hawaiian Airlines passenger traffic increases 5.8 percent in Aug

Hawaiian Airlines has expressed its jubilation at the outcome of its operational results for the month of August 2013. The airline has announced its passenger traffic for the month and said that its passenger traffic increased by 5.8 percent in August as compared to the same month in 2012.
Hawaiian Airlines attributed the increase in the passenger numbers for August as it enhanced its capacity by adding more flights.

Hawaiian Airlines, which is the largest airline in Hawaii Islands, said that it carried 928,616 passengers in August 2013 as compared to 877,362 it carried in the same month last year. The airline further said that its load factor (percentage of seats filled) registered an increase of 1 percentage point to 85.3 percent from 84.3 percent.
 
The airline provided further details about the August outcome and said that its revenue passenger miles (one paying passenger transported one mile) increased 9 percent to 1.3 million from 1.2 million. Its available seat miles (one seat transported one mile) rose 7.8 percent to 1.5 million from 1.4 million.

Meanwhile, Hawaiian Airlines has become the first carrier in the United States to provide iPad Minis to its customers. This type of technology is the first to be offered by any U.S. carrier to enhance in-flight entertainment for its customers.

Hawaiian Airlines said that it has started offering some 1,500 iPad minis to its customers on 14 routes between the mainland and Hawaii. The airline started implementing it on its flights effective from September 1, 2013.
