Hawaiian Airlines planning to launch nonstop flights between Kona and Tokyo’s Haneda Airport

Hawaiian Airlines recently announced it is planning to add a new route to Japan. The airline in a statement said that Hawaiian Airlines flights are likely to be added between Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and Kona International Airport.

The airline is planning to add a new nonstop route between Kona and Tokyo Haneda. The new route will replace the flights between the Big Island and Kona which were stopped being operated about two years ago.

Media reports said that Hawaiian Airlines has applied with the U.S. Department of Transportation for the new nonstop route. The airline also sees this as an opportunity to restore flights services between the Big Island and Japan, which were dropped by Japan Airlines.
  
Japan Airlines had to suspend its flights between Tokyo Narita Airport and Kona is October 2010 because of the restructuring exercise it had undertaken.

Hawaiian Airlines currently operates flights between Honolulu and Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, and is planning to launch a second flight to the Haneda Airport in Tokyo.
