Hawaiian launches Ohana by Hawaiian subsidiary, debuts to Molokai

Hawaiian Airlines has finally launched its much awaited turboprop subsidiary carrier named Ohana by Hawaiian. The subsidiary took off on its maiden journey to Molokai. The flight received a warm welcome upon its arrival at the isle by the cheerful crowds. The airline has expressed pleasure and satisfaction at the launch ceremony.

Mark Dunkerley, the President and CEO of Hawaiian Airline has shown firm belief in the latest service. He was a part of the first batch of passengers that landed at the island with others. He said that he is sure that the airline’s latest service will be tremendously successful in the longer run. He added further that large number of supporters has always boosted their morale. Other prominent officials who were onboard the airline include Hadden Watt, Managing Director of Ohana by Hawaiian, J. Kalani English, Senator of Maui County, and, Sig Zane, aircraft’s livery designer.

The airline is proud for another reason. This flight was the first in ten years to land in Molokai by the Honolulu based airline. Post the inaugural flight, it is focusing on expanding its footprints within the Hawaii region. Therefore, it now plans to spread its wings to Kapalua Airport on Maui and Lanai in the coming times. The service to Lanai would also be its first in a decade.

The airline will use the services of ATR 42 plane to fly these routes. This aircraft has a seating capacity for 48 passengers. At present, it will continue to operate thrice-daily flights to Molokai. The locals are very happy with the airline’s decision to fly to the islands of the region and offer them yet another chance of affordable connections.
