Spanish carrier Iberia recently announced it will be launching flights to 13 new destinations and will also be increasing frequencies on some of the routes during the forthcoming summer 2015 schedule.
The airline said that it will be operating flights to new destinations in countries such as France, Hungary, Portugal, Germany, UK and Italy. The newly-launched routes include Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Budapest, Funchal, Hamburg, Edinburgh, Manchester, London Gatwick, Verona, Catania, Palermo, Naples and Florence. The flights to all of these destinations will be operated from the airline’s main hub at Madrid.
The airline will also be introducing nonstop flights to Tenerife in the Canary Islands from Asturias in the north of Spain.
Iberia Group, which comprises of Iberia Airline and Iberia Express, has indicated that apart from launching new routes, 65 additional weekly flights will also be added to 24 existing European, Spanish and other long-haul routes. The destinations to see increased frequencies include Galicia, the Canary and Balearic Islands, Asturias, Stuttgart, Berlin, Prague, Dublin, Venice, Tel Aviv, Lisbon, Paris Orly, New York and Mexico City.
Earlier in 2014 Iberia launched flights services to eight new destinations, which include Stuttgart, Stockholm, Istanbul, Hanover, Athens, Amsterdam, Santo Domingo and Montevideo. The airline also increased its frequencies to Santiago and Panama City, as well as summer routes such as Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Ibiza and St. Petersburg.
The Iberia Group is currently operating flights services to more than 100 destinations spread over in 38 countries in the Americas, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
