Iberia launches flights between Madrid and Lagos

Spain’s national flag carrier Iberia recently announced the launch of its flights service between Madrid and Lagos.

The airline in a statement said that Iberia flights would be the fourth weekly flight between the Spanish capital Madrid and Nigerian capital Lagos.

Iberia is currently operating flights between Lagos and Madrid on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

According to the airline the additional fourth flight will be adding 224 seats every week on Madrid-Lagos route, bringing the total to above 37,400 seats in 2012. This year there has been an increase of 13 percent seats on Madrid-Lagos route as compared to 2011.

Iberia first launched its flights between Madrid and Lagos in June 2004. The airline continues to remain the only carrier offering direct flights between Spain and Nigeria. In 2011, Iberia flights carried about 25,000 passengers on the route between Lagos and Madrid, an increase of 3.6 percent over 2010.
