Iberia to add direct flights to Ecuador

Iberia Airlines has announced that it will be adding nonstop flights to Ecuador. The Spanish carrier will commence service between Madrid and Quito, the capital of Ecuador beginning October 26, 2013. With the launch of this service, the airline will create a record for itself by becoming the first airline to connect Europe and Ecuador nonstop.

The airline will operate three flights a week on the new route. The airline has simultaneously decided to continue operations on its Madrid-Quito-Guayaquil-Madrid route. The carrier operates four flights per week on this particular route.

Passengers who frequent the route or wish to fly between these cities can now book Iberia Airlines tickets and enjoy uninterrupted direct service. As per the schedule, the flights will depart Madrid every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 12:35 pm and arrive in Quito at 18:05 pm. The return flights will depart Quito at 21:20 pm and arrive in Madrid at 14:05 pm, the following day.

The airline will use the services of Airbus A340-600s with a seating capacity of 342. At present, the airline is refurbishing these aircrafts with flatbed seats in the Business Plus section.
