Icelandair in the mood to expand service in the year 2014

Icelandair, is one of the airlines that is expanding slowly. The airline operates flights to a number of European cities and is now looking to explore options in the Americas. It is known for its customer friendly services. It offers seamless connectivity to travelers to their respective destinations. The airline has some big growth plans for itself in the coming year.

It is set to include Vancouver to its itinerary and provide service from the Canadian city to more than 20 different locations across Europe. The new routes will commence service from May 13, 2014 through October 12, 2015. These Icelandair flights will be available on twice-a-week basis.

Beside, Vancouver it is set to provide seasonal service from Edmonton. The new service is scheduled for March 26, 2014 launch and will continue through January 2015. The flights from this city will take off four times per week. Currently, it operates flights between Iceland and Toronto, and Iceland and Halifax.

The airline is the largest and most popular airline of Iceland. Its headquarters are based in Reykjavík and it operates out of its main hub at Keflavík International Airport. The commercial carrier at present, offers flights to about 36 destinations located in 16 countries. It also has service across the Atlantic and continues to fly passengers to cities located on either side of the mighty ocean.

Its location plays a pivotal role for the airline, which allows passengers to book one-stop transatlantic flights at its own convenience. The airline is expanding its reach and is faring well. In the year 2012 it transported about two million passengers that witnessed an increase of 16 percent from the previous year.
