Icelandair increasing capacity on international flights by 15 percent next year

Iceland’s national flag carrier Icelandair recently announced it will be increasing to capacity on its international routes by 15 percent.

The airline in a statement said that by increasing its capacity on its international network, Icelandair flights would be carrying an estimated 250,000 passengers in 2013.

The airline stated that it will be adding two Boeing 757 aircrafts in its fleet that would help it to increase the capacity on international flights.

Earlier, Icelandair had announced it will be introducing new destinations and would be offering Icelandair flights tickets to its customers at cheap rates. The airline said that new destinations, such as Zurich, St. Petersburg and Anchorage would be added to the airline’s growing list of flights network.

According to the airline, by adding new destinations to its network the number of international flights to be operated would be the largest in the company’s history.

Icelandair also expects to boost its passenger traffic during the winter months. The company is aiming to significantly reduce seasonal fluctuations.
