Icelandair launching flights to Anchorage, Zurich and St. Petersburg

Iceland’s national flag carrier Icelandair recently announced it will be launching new flights to Anchorage in Alaska. The airline will also be introducing new flights to two new destinations in Europe, Zurich and St. Petersburg.

The airline in a statement said that Icelandair flights to Anchorage will start from May 16, 2012. The airline will operate nonstop seasonal flights services between Anchorage and Iceland twice weekly through mid-September 2013.

According to the airline, flights to Zurich would start from June 1 and would be operated through September 14, 2013 four times every week. However, Icelandair flights to St. Petersburg would become operational from June 1 and would continue until September 17, 2012. The passengers would be able to buy Icelandair flights tickets for flights to St. Petersburg to be operated twice weekly.

Currently, Icelandair operates out of its hub in Reykjavik and offers direct connections to above 20 destinations in Scandinavia, Continental Europe and the United Kingdom.

Icelandair also operates seasonal service from Washington D.C., Toronto, Orlando Sanford, Halifax and Minneapolis-St. Paul. Apart from this, the airline also conducts scheduled flights services from Denver, Seattle, New York JFK and Boston.
