Icelandair passenger traffic up by 25 percent this November

Iceland’s national flag carrier Icelandair recently announced its operational results for the month of November 2012. The airline exuded optimism at the remarkable performance of Icelandair flights services on international routes.

The airline in a statement said that it transported 131 thousand passengers on international routes in November this year. The airline stated that the sale of Icelandair flight tickets was quite strong and the airline reported a 25 percent growth in passenger traffic this November as compared to the same month in 2011.

The airline revealed that its capacity increase was 31 percent in November this year when compared to November 2011. The airline further stated that its passenger load factor was 75.9 percent in November 2012 as compared to 76.9 percent in November last year.

Icelandair, however, said that the passenger bookings on regional and Greenland flights reported a slight decline. The airline said that it carried a little less than 26,000 passengers in November 2012, down 4 percent as compared to the same month last year.
