Icelandair to face tough competition from EasyJet with launch of its flights to Iceland

Icelandair flights will be facing a tough competition by EasyJet this summer with the launch of new routes to Iceland.

Icelandair recently announced it is likely to see a growing competition from low-cost carrier EasyJet, which will be launching flights to Reykjavik from Manchester and Edinburgh from March next year.

EasyJet is also planning to operate more flights from Luton as well. EasyJet unveiled its first Icelandic link this summer.

The airline is offering Icelandair flights tickets for flights being currently operated from Manchester and London Heathrow to Iceland.

Icelandair had previously been holding an 11 percent stake in low-cost carrier EasyJet. Scotland’s biggest carrier EasyJet is now going to provide great completion to Icelandair with the launch of its flights on Iceland routes.

EasyJet is also expected to launch flights from Glasgow to Reykjavik. Icelandair is currently operating thrice weekly flights on Glasgow-Reykjavik route and will be increasing it to four weekly flights from March next year.
