Icelandair’s Saga Lounge at Keflavik Airport reopens

Iceland’s flag carrier Icelandair recently announced it has reopened its Saga Lounge at Keflavik Airport in the country to cope up with its extensive summer flight schedule.

The airline in a statement said that the passengers taking Icelandair flights due to pass through Keflavik Airport this summer will be easily and efficiently accommodated at the newly refurbished Saga Lounge.

Designed by Icelandic interior designers Eggert Ketilsson and Stígur Steinþórsson, the revamped Saga Lounge is brighter and more spacious, and is accompanied by furniture and décor nbased on Icelandic nature and culture. The new lounge also depicts Icelandair’s 75-year history with photographs and artwork.

Icelandair stated that the lounge has been opened in time to handle the large number of passengers expected to pass through the airport this summer as well as throughout the year.

The airline stated that 541,000 foreign tourists passed through Keflavik Airport in 2011. This is a record figure, and 18 percent more than in 2010.
