Japan Airlines suspending three daily round-trip flights to China from October 10 to 27

A growing tiff between Japan and China triggered by the Senkaku Islands dispute has forced the suspension of Japan Airlines flights to China for a brief period in October this year.

Japan Airlines recently announced it will be suspending three of its seven daily round-trip flights to China from October 10 to 27, 2012 because of the dispute over Senkaku Islands between the two countries. Many tourists have already canceled their Japan Airlines flights tickets over sovereignty protests raging between Japan and China over Senkaku Islands.

The airline in a statement said that one round-trip flight between Tokyo’s Narita airport and Beijing would be canceled. Another round-trip flight being operated between Tokyo’s Narita airport and Shanghai would also be canceled. The airline further stated that the third round-trip flight between Kansai International Airport and Shanghai would also be temporarily canceled.

The temporary cancelations would lead to the reduction of 14 weekly flights between Narita airport and Beijing to seven. The flights being operated between Narita airport and Shanghai will be reduced from 21 weekly flights to 14. According to the airline, Japan Airlines flights between Kansai airport and Shanghai will be reduced to seven.
