JetBlue Airways and Emirates Airline enter into codeshare agreement

New York's Hometown Airline JetBlue Airways recently announced it has entered into a codeshare agreement with the Dubai-based international carrier Emirates Airline. The agreement is aimed at connecting both the carriers’ networks via New York’s John F. Kennefy International Airport.

JetBlue Airways and Emirates Airline are already interline partners ever since 2010. This has enabled passengers taking Emirates and JetBlue Airways flights to travel seamlessly on a single combined ticket, while simultaneously enjoying several other benefits, including baggage transfer and one-stop check-in.

The new codeshare agreement will help Emirates’ network expand within the U.S. to almost 20 cities through JetBlue Airways.

Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ Executive Vice President of Passenger Sales Worldwide, said that the codeshare pact with JetBlue Airways will make flying to the U.S. from the Gulf, Middle East, Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and the Far East smoother and more convenient than ever before.   

Scott Laurence, JetBlue Airways’ Vice President of Network Planning and Partnerships, said that through this new codeshare at New York JFK, the airline is pleased to expand upon its successful relationship with Emirates.

Laurence further said that Emirates has been a committed travel partner for JetBlue Airways, offering its customers easy access worldwide efficiently.
