JetBlue Airways announces traffic results for April 2012

JetBlue Airways flights helped earn more revenues for the airline in April this year. The airline recently announced its preliminary traffic results for April 2012 amid optimism

JetBlue Airways in a statement revealed that its passenger traffic for April 2012 increased 14.5 percent as compared to the same month in 2011, on a capacity increase of 7.1 percent.

Providing further details about its operational results, the airline reported that its load factor for April this year was 85.2 percent, an increase of 5.5 points from April 2011. The airline’s preliminary completion factor was 99.9 percent and its on-time performance was 86.7 percent.

JetBlue Airways also disclosed that its preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) for the month of April this year increased 9 percent y-o-y. The airline hoped that its PRASM is expected to increase between 3 and 4 percent y-o-y.

Popularly called New York’s Hometown Airline, JetBlue Airways operates out of its main hubs in Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles and Orlando. The airline currently serves 71 cities with 700 daily flights.
